FUIVES IS THE LARGEST CATALAN DONKEY RESERVE
It’s located in Berguedà region, in the municipal borough of Olvan.
Our zoological centre is qualified as protected area of countryside and nature reserve in atypical family’s ancestral house prior to 10th century.
Our aim is spreading the knowledge of this native breed to avoidits extinction since its part of our catalan genetic heritage.
Nowadays our reproductive centre has got the qualification of natural environment class. This means that our visitors will be able to know an unknown breed for many, at close quarters.
With this idea born the zoo of Fuives!
WE DISCLOSE
how we have carried out this recovery and preservation of donkeys. We also explain specific features of the breed, for example: natural reproduction, artificial insemination, feeding, physical qualities,…
DURING THE VISIT
you could see donkeys and you’ll know, by using visual media and the ecomuseum, the history of the breed and its exploitation. Furthermore, you will be able to enjoy an exhibition of country tools and a lot of other things!
OUTDOORS ACTIVITIES
We also have a picnic area and a small souvenir store.

Rural environment classroom – schools VISITS
Would you like to come see us with your students and at the same time make the visit a very fun class?
They will be outdoors, many of them have not seen any donkey, they will be able to touch us, they will see how we eat, and with the museum and the audiovisual we will learn lot.
